Diablo 4’s Pets – A Sign of More Microtransactions to Come?

With Blizzard selling pets in Diablo 4, many players worry buy diablo 4 items that this is just the beginning of a bigger push toward microtransactions. While the game already has a shop for cosmetic armor and weapons, the introduction of pets suggests Blizzard plans to expand monetization even further.

Historically, Blizzard has tested the waters with small additions before going all-in on monetization. In World of Warcraft, pets started as simple cosmetic purchases but eventually became part of battle mechanics. If Diablo 4 follows a similar path, could we see paid inventory space, stash expansions, or even convenience perks in the shop?

Some players don’t mind cosmetic microtransactions, as long as they remain purely optional. However, the concern is that Blizzard might slowly introduce paid features that make the game more convenient, encouraging players to spend money instead of grinding.

Where do you think this is heading? Is this just a harmless addition, or is Blizzard laying the groundwork for more aggressive D4 Materials for Sale monetization?
